教育実習2週間後

教育実習が2週間終わり、残り1週間となった。
始めだけ気合が入っていたというわけではなく、ここ数日間はいろいろ思うことはあったけれど、ブログに向かう余裕がなかった。
教師の生活を見ていると、思っていたよりも時間がないことに気づかされた。
朝は8時前に出勤して、授業が終わるのは15時すぎくらい。それから校務分掌という役割があって、学校の委員会と呼ばれる諸々の活動を担うことがある。僕の担当の先生は生徒会を手伝っていて、何時間も生徒と付き合っている。そして部活動の顧問をしていると18時まで練習に参加することにもなる。さらに、クラスの担任であれば、生徒のことで各家庭を訪問することだってある。
こういった業務を日々こなしているのを見ていて、本当に忙しい仕事なのだと気づいた。しかも、教育実習生を指導する立場も担うとなると、自分の時間なんてないに等しい。教師は公務員であって公務員ではないような気がする。
一方で、子供たちが成長していく姿を見ることができるところが喜びであるのだろう。2週間しかいないけれど、まだ確立されていない、あどけない精神が素直に反応として出てきて、はっと気づかされることがある。子供たちにしかわからないこともたくさんあって、一緒に学んでいきたいと思う。
早いもので3週間あった実習期間も残り1週間。
どれくらいのことができるのだろうか。どれだけ与えても与えすぎることがない。
