SONYからハードディスクを内臓したゲーム機PSXが年末発売予定。
ceatec JAPAN2003で実物を拝見したのですが、白で統一されたデザインで透明感のあるものでした。女性ウケしそうな感じです。
PSXですが、もうゲーム機というより、ハードディスクレコーダーにゲーム機能が付加されているといった様子です。DVDメディアに記録することはもちろん、MP3再生やATRAC3の記録・再生、静止画も保存してテレビの大画面で見ることも出来るようです。メモリースティックスロットも搭載していて、気になるところはゲーム用のデータを記録出来るか否かというところ。ゲーム用メモリーカードは値段の割りに8MBと物足りないので。
PS2をDVDプレイヤー代わりに購入した人も多いと思うのですが、PSXをハードディスクレコーダーとして購入する人が多くなりそうです。というのも、160GBで79800円、250GBで99800円と、現行のハードディスクレコーダーと比べてもお得だからです。
ただ、年内に発売されるかどうかは微妙だと思いますけどね。
